About Us

Norpak Leather Company was established in 1961 by Akram Zaman who studied leather technology at the British School of Leather Technology in Northampton several years earlier. Norpak imported leather from around the world and shoe and boot uppers from the Indian sub-continent to supply the flourishing English footwear manufacturing industry. Now that this industry has been somewhat streamlined over the years, Norpak's focus is now on the development and importation of finished footwear.

The company is now headed by Karim Zaman, the son of the founder. Karim recently returned to the company following seven years as a director of another footwear importing company which manufactured out of India and the UAE and sold to most of the UK high street and a very successful men’s fashion brand. His experience is now being applied with his own flavour to create the current collections being offered to UK customers.

Delivering the right shoes

We believe that in order to get the look and feel of a shoe right you have to be passionate about shoes. We do not just find shoes from a factory and offer them to our customers. We create footwear concepts that we believe are relevant and progressive in the UK market. We then work in partnership with select factories to develop those concepts into ranges that we then market. This alliance with the factories that we work with means that we are fully involved in all stages of product development. When developments turn into production styles, Norpak's involvement continues. We check materials, monitor production and, with our own staff working in the factory, we apply our own layers of quality control and inspection. Norpak makes sure that only good shoes leave the factory and get delivered on time to the customer.

News and Events

A factory that we work closely with is exhibiting a range of our Winter/Autumn 2010 styles at Exporivaschuh International Shoe Fair at Riva del Garda on the 16-19 January 2010. Please contact us to arrange an appointment with us on the stand. If you are unable to attend, please contact us to arrange to see key elements of the range in the UK before the fair or a wider selection after the fair.
